This series shows different layers of edges connecting and moving in between another creating a whole new edge.

 

Geometry

An edge between two vertices	A polygon is bounded by edges, like this square has 4 edges.
Every edge shares two faces in apolyhedron, like thiscube.	Every edge shares three or more faces in a 4-polytope, as seen in this projection of a tesseract

EDGE

Edge  

Noun The outside limit of an object, area, or surface; a place or part farthest away from the center of something: "a tree at the water's edge".

Verb Provide with a border or edge: "the pool is edged with paving".
